Note

James Henry Fenwick (1902): despite his "WW2 Medals Issued to Merchant Seamen" record and the 1911 census showing he was born in 1902, the 1901 census shows that he was born in 1900 in Jarrow and lived with his parents and siblings, his father working in the shipyards.

He made numerous journeys as a marine engineer, some during the Second World War.

There is a record of a James Henry Fenwick having served as a sergeant in the Royal West Kent Regiment during WW1.
