Note

Charles Linney may have been born in Pickwell, near Melton Mowbray in Leicestershire in 1874. In 1881 he was living in Normanby, Eston, North Yorkshire with parents Richard and Mary, brother Richard; also 1891. In 1911 he was still in Eston but with wife Mary Elizabeth and son Harold. He had married Mary Elizabeth Rutherford in Middlesbrough in 1905. He was a stoker on the railway, later Locomotive Engine Fireman.

He died in January 1939, buried on 23 jan 1939, aged about 64.
